AUSTRALIAN SAFARI

The Australian Safari is Australia’s ultimate off-road adventure with competitors on both four and two wheels, traversing over 5,000kms of gruelling outback terrain over nine days. The event is renowned as one of the toughest and most challenging motoring events in the world.

Since its inception in 1985, the Australian safari has traversed some of Australia’s most challenging terrains. The event first began in the outback of the Northern Territory, then moved to New South Wales incorporating the famous Mt Panorama Circuit in Bathurst and now bases itself in Western Australia.

Considered by many as the Southern Hemisphere’s ‘Paris to Dakar’, this epic adventure sees entrants come from the United States, United Arab Emirates, Japan, England, Sweden, Scotland, Papua New Guinea and from across Australia.

In 2004 Twenty seven cars and 48 bikes took part in this gruelling eight day event covering rural and outback NSW. qmediagroup covered the entire event, delivered news feeds and publicity, and also produced a one-hour highlight DVD for sale and broadcast on the Nine Network and Internationally.
